Witches Hat Lobster

This giant lobster is made entirely from a plastic witches hat (traffic cone) and wire. Made by a clever artisan in Cape Town who lives in the seaside township of Masiphumelele, South Africa, where lobster are in abundance. 

In the disadvantaged community of Masiphumelele, little is regarded as waste. An old witches hat has been transformed into a piece of art, such work is a means to provide employment to the crafter and a steady income. Pan After works closely with these crafters to continue to empower their craft, their ingenuity and their livelihoods.
