Dorothéa's Embroidered Place Setting - Runner
These fine place settings are embroidered by Dorothéa in Mexico. The art of embroidery and lace in Mexico dates back to the early 19th century and is a common technique found in both indigenous and modern textiles throughout Mexico. These place settings are made using the drawn-thread technique and finished with a lace trim. Dorothéa has been making these settings for most of her working life, the traditional techniques of needle-work are demonstrated beautifully in her work.
