This cookbook looks at the nomenclature of dishes from a global perspective. Dishes which have fallen by the wayside or scarcely questioned about their name. From Spotted Dick (UK) to Ants Climbing a Log (CH); their histories brought into question with a party of canapés and the launch of our new book on the subject. 

A global etymology of oddly named dishes. From Pigs in a Blanket to Nun’s Farts Devils on Horseback, The Cookbook pans its way across the world looking at how these dishes earned their names. Equal measures historical, visionary and surreal, the book depicts each recipe as their literal namesake, alongside the back-story and early recipes.
