Zulu Ceremonial Basket 002 (X Large)
These baskets are hand woven by Zulu women in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa as a part of a co-operative. The skills of basketry in Zululand continue to be passed down from generation to generation and remain a reliable source of income for artisans and their families, where some baskets are among the most collectable in the world. Always one-of-a-kind, they are finely woven from local grasses and commonly very decorative with natural dyes created from roots, barks, aloe, berries, mud and even boiled cow dung.
