Xhosa Reed Wool Basket
These simple baskets with a longer handle are handwoven by a collective of Xhosa women in the eastern cape of South Africa. Made from river reed native to the area, their free form shape makes each basket unique with sculptural like qualities.
The Xhosa women who weave this collection of beautiful objects & baskets work as part of a community project - providing them with employment and continuing to empower the skill of basket weaving in their local township.
Wool Basket measures approx 20cm across top, 24cm at base x 30cm high with a 16m handle.
(Give or take 5cm as each one is unique).
