Antique Hemp Linen Cushion 012

Handwoven cushion from a small Hungarian village in northwestern Transylvania, Romania, a region known for its rich textile heritage, distinctive embroidery and weaving traditions. Textiles from this region often feature monochromatic combinations of red and white or blue and white, with simple linear patterns and contrasting pinstripes. This particular style of weaving is no longer produced.

Made from antique linen sacks woven from cotton, hemp and cotton-hemp blends, each cushion is one of a kind. Whipstitch detailing, irregularities and signs of age reflect the handmade nature and history of the original textiles.

Any significant repairs have been pictured to accurately reflect the vintage condition of each piece. Patches, marks and imperfections are present.
