Sun Stripe Tray

In collaboration with industrial designer, Ineke Hens, these 'Sun Stripe Tray' are hand woven by a group of artisans that weaves baskets in a farmer community in Malawi. It is through these community projects that the artisans are able to preserve their centuries-old cultural heritage and are able to keep their crafts alive.

The project preserves and promotes works by the artisans, furthermore it teaches and guides the crafters to foster collaborations with renowned designers and invest in equipments to grow and expand their enterprise which then adds economic, cultural and social value to Malawi and the artisans. 

The Sun Stripe Tray are perfect as a food tray, fruit bowl or decoration on any table setting or a wall hanging piece. 

Measures approx. 43cm wide (65cm with handles) and 8cm tall.
