These organic gourd shaped baskets are handwoven by a collective Xhosa women in the eastern cape of South Africa. Made from river reed native to the area, these large-round baskets hold sculptural like qualities, their free form shape makes each one unique.
The Xhosa women who weave this collection of beautiful baskets work as part of a community project - providing them with employment and continuing to empower the skill of basket weaving in their local township.
