JB Blunk Second Edition Cream Cup - Fingerprints
A noted American twentieth century sculptor and a significant figure in the craft field in the sixties and seventies, late artist, JB Blunk (b.1926) is renowned for his large scale wooden sculptures with an extensive body of work spanning across stone, cast bronze, painting, jewellery, clay and carved wood.
The Blunk Cups are an ongoing series of slip cast ceramics based on JB Blunk’s original ceramic pieces. For this Second Edition, the Estate collaborated with artists’ Tyler Cross and Kyle Lypka to produce four cups in a new matte cream and sage coloured glaze. The vessels are smooth to the touch and retain the silhouettes and details of Blunk’s originals. These unique cups bring the spirit of Blunk’s work into everyday life, as it was meant to be experienced.
Fingerprints Cup measures 9cm high x 7cm wide at top, 6cm wide at base.
Packaging designed by Commune. Includes a cotton bandana featuring one of JB Blunk’s iconic signatures.
