Xhosa Reed Vase

These organic vase-shaped baskets are handwoven by a collective of Xhosa women in the eastern cape of South Africa. Made from river reed native to the area, their free form shape makes each basket unique with sculptural like qualities.

The Xhosa women who weave this collection of beautiful baskets work as part of a community project - providing them with employment and continuing to empower the skill of basket weaving in their local township. 

Measures approx 28cm wide x 24cm deep x 40cm high.

*This is not suitable for holding water.
