PAN INTERNATIONAL: Venice

From Cape Town to Mexico City. Venice to Tokyo.

We travel to source, to learn, to see, to create and along the way — we take notes. 

These are cities we return to time and again — places layered with culture, food, adventure and daily wonder. The longer we spend in them, the more they reveal.

We are drawn to the seemingly ordinary: the surfaces, textures, colours, street signage, small details that shape a place, the mood. 

Here is something to cross-check against what you already have in mind, to confirm the must-sees and perhaps surface one or two you hadn't considered. Take what’s useful and enjoy our observations of the cities we wander through.

Our Venice Essentials:

Visit the Laguna~B store and then pop next door their newly opened trattoria, Do Farai.
Dine at the iconic Vini Da Arturo, Poste Vecie and make time to have a Cicchetti at Schiavi bar. For focaccia & wine go to La Bottiglia and for a classic scampi pasta — Il Diavolo E L’acqua Santa is a must. A visit to the Peggy Guggenheim collection is a must, find time for coffee and pasticcere at Pasticceria Tonolo and explore plenty of Carlo Scarpa Architecture (schedule for the Olivetti showroom, the Venezuela Pavilion and the University of Architecture of Venice and more). 

Day-trips:

Take a boat and visit the Island of Burano, a colourful fishing village and dine at the Trattoria Al Gatto Nero (a highlight). If you're interested in architecture, organise a tour of Palazzo Bo at the University of Padua to see the work of master Gio Ponti. Padua (Padova) is a city just outside of Venice is incredible and an easy train ride away.
