Sun Stripe Basket

In collaboration with industrial designer, Ineke Hens, these baskets are hand woven by a group of artisans in a farmer community in Malawi. It is through these community projects that they are able to preserve their centuries-old cultural heritage and keep their crafts alive.

The project preserves and promotes works by the artisans. Furthermore it teaches and guides the crafters to foster collaborations with renowned designers and invest in equipments to grow and expand their enterprise which then adds economic, cultural and social value to Malawi and the artisans.

Small measures approx. 44cm wide x 30cm tall.

Large measures approx. 45cm wide x 50cm tall.
