A traditional chair from the Baule people of Cotê d'Ivoire. Noted for their fine wooden carvings these chairs are smaller in stature as they were used for carrying from village to village. Unlike many other African stools that are carved from one piece of wood, these chairs are crafted with multiple pieces of wood and feature fine, simple joinery and decorative detail.
