These solid wooden stools were made by the Tonga people of Zimbabwe and southern Zambia. Hand-carved from one piece of wood they were traditionally used by the elderly as a stool and were a status symbol which held significant importance across their culture. Always unique in size and shape where each shape holds different symbolic meaning.
